Idle Lies due to release new single
Liverpool indie rock band Idle Lies release new single “Two’s a Crowd”, premiered on BBC Radio Wales and described as “charismatic indie guitar music” by DJ Adam Walton.
After recent support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, Liverpool indie rock band Idle Lies are set for their biggest release so far with “Two’s a Crowd”, out on 28th May. The track recently received its first play anywhere on BBC Radio Wales, met with a great reception, and described by DJ Adam Walton as “indie guitar music full of charisma” from a band “with stories to tell, not just spaces to fill”. The song has been mastered by Pete Maher, who has previously mastered recordings for U2, The Rolling Stones, Jack White, and many others.
Guitar driven addictive indie rock with huge riffs, catchy vocal hooks, and creativity layered throughout the lyrics and melodies, “Two’s a Crowd” has everything Idle Lies are all about and is the perfect start to making up for lost time after a year apart. Written in April 2020, the single was recorded after one day of real-life rehearsals in March 2021 due to COVID restrictions, meaning the song had to be developed through Zoom practices and sending recordings back-and-forth one instrument at a time. The release is also Ross Neville-Jackson’s debut with the band, who joins on lead vocals for this single.
Formed in 2019 and influenced by The Smiths, The Specials, Arctic Monkeys, and many others, Idle Lies are ideal for fans of The Lathums, Sam Fender, Blossoms, and Rats. They’ve achieved early success through their first 3 singles, attaining over 20,000 streams from all across the world. They’re also a proven favourite on the Liverpool live music scene; winning an audience-voted Battle Of The Bands in the iconic Cavern Club, as well as supporting LIFE on their UK tour in 2019 for I Love Live Events. They have several gigs booked this summer, including headlining E.B.G.B.S. in Liverpool on Saturday 24th July, The Fox & Newt in Leeds on 17th July, and plenty more to be announced.
