Skeleton Records 50th Anniversary Celebration 

With an all day event at Birkenhead’s Future Yard

A local institution, Skeleton Records has stood as a bastion of good music since its opening back in 1972. Stocking everything from Rock, Dub and Hip Hop to Jazz and Indie, it has been the solace of many a muso and provided soundtracks to parties, Sunday chillouts and everything in between.

The man behind the shop for all these years, John Weaver, was as much a cultural influence on the town as the business he created. Alongside the shop, he promoted shows for the likes of the Sex Pistols, Hawkwind and Motorhead. His passion for music was exuberant and infectious.

With this in mind, we are delighted to announce a day celebrating the shop’s 50th anniversary and the life of the man who made it all possible, John, who sadly passed away at the start of the year. Curated and promoted by Ben Savage from the shop, the lineup is a toast to the local scene that John loved and supported so strongly.

Helping us celebrate John on the night will be Instant Agony, Biteback, Hijinx, The Suns, John Poole, The Webb, Chickpea & the Seagull Boy and Modern Marriage.
