The Heavy North Set For UK Tour
The Heavy North set for September UK tour following the release of their
critically acclaimed debut album
Electric Soul Machine
Liverpool six-piece The Heavy North are preparing for their long-awaited UK tour this September following the release of their 10-track debut album earlier this year.
The Heavy North’s debut LP ‘Electric Soul Machine‘ was self-released on Record Store Day back in April (23rd) and has since been well received by fans, followers and the UK music press – including most recently Classic Rock Magazine (“8/10” July ), BBC Introducing and Radio X – as well as gaining new fans through their recent #TimsTwitterListeningParty with Tim Burgess (The Charlatans)
The garage/blues rock band, made up of Kenny Stuart, Jose Ibanez, Andrew Horrocks, Jack Birch, Ste Penn and Mark Rice, formed in late 2018 and released their debut 4-track EP ‘Dive Bar Blues’ in December 2020.
This year has seen the band play a sold out BBC Introducing show at the legendary Cavern Club Liverpool back in January followed by UK shows and support slots with Cut Glass Kings, Cast, The Boo Radleys, and more recently The Zutons and Red Rum Club at the sold out Liverpool International Music Festival Closing Party.
The Heavy North kick off their September tour with their debut Scottish shows in Edinburgh (15th) and Glasgow (16th) before visiting Newcastle (17th), Hull (19th), Birmingham (20th), Newport (21st) and London’s legendary Dublin Castle in Camden (23rd).
The band conclude their UK tour with their biggest hometown headline show to date at the Arts Club Theatre Liverpool (24th) where they’ll be performing Electric Soul Machine in full as a 12-piece band featuring the Northern String Quartet.
“We played a handful of UK shows back in February supporting our mates Cut Glass Kings, but we can’t wait to hit the road for our own headline tour this September,” said The Heavy North frontman Kenny Stuart.
“We’re especially looking forward to playing Scotland for the first time, as well as our big hometown show in Liverpool at the end of the tour where we’ll be playing Electric Soul Machine in full with some guests”.
