The Magic numbers, Liverpool 17.09.2021
After multiple cancellations due to the pandemic The Magic Numbers finally made it to Liverpool on their Anniversary Tour Celebrating 15 years of their acclaimed, double platinum debut album, ‘The Magic Numbers’. as expected they didn’t disappoint!
NSGs Billy Vitch was there to catch all the action!
The night started as a really relaxed and mellow affair, It kinda felt like most people could not believe they were actually at the show, a show that’s been postponed since mid 2019 with what should have been the 15 year anniversary tour now becoming unofficially the 17 year anniversary tour due to the pandemic.
With a magical opening act that made the night even more special was Salford native, singer/songwriter Ren Harvieu who has written extensively with The Magic Numbers frontman Romeo Stoddart. The highlight of this was when after her opening solo song she introduced Romeo and Michele Stodart on stage to play and support her entire set!
Now it’s not often that you get to see a band you adored 15 years ago play their debut album live and sound exactly the same as the original record that they released in 2005! It felt like I was transported back in time in a time machine, back to being a youngish 25 year old!
Very rarely have I seen a band commanded an audience in the same loving, committed way that the Magic Numbers do. The two brothers and two sister band really shine when they perform and you really see how people connect directly with that.
The Magic Numbers have always been a sing along act and Romeo makes sure you know this as he tells you to sing along before nearly every song during the set! A mixed crowd of all ages I was really aware of the people my age, mostly 40 + year olds who were all singing along to the songs that had become a soundtrack to their lives over 15 years ago and it was just truly magical. Literally, everyone knew every single word to every single song. Rare again!
The Magic Numbers Numbers Appsoulty smashed it at Liverpool’s Arts Club Friday night on their rescheduled 15 year anniversary tour!

I’ve been a photographer in the Arts Club a lot of times and I’ve seen a lot of gigs there, but in all honesty, I’ve never felt the main room floor bounce as much as it did on Friday night when the band played their hit song ‘Love Me Like You’! Maybe I’m looking at this with rose tinted spectacles, but who cares because I got to witness a band play their first album, an album that literally saved my sanity and life back in 2005!.
